A modest-sized backyard and a long client wish list made for a fun design challenge with this modern farmhouse style space. What started out as an empty, muddy mess is now maximized for outdoor living. Our scope included a detached office with an attached pergola over a porcelain paver dining patio, three Corten steel planters to frame the space, precast slab pavers inset in synthetic turf, a prefab fire pit with a surrounding seating area, a concrete retaining/planter wall, a hot tub with a built-in bench, landscape lighting and string lights, Mediterranean climate planting to complete the modern farmhouse aesthetic, irrigation and Mexican pebble "mulch".
