This small space in the entry to the client's residence  in Grover Beach, CA was converted into a stylish and comfortable entertainment area. A new steel post and beam structure with horizontal ipe slats for privacy was built up against an existing fence, creating an outdoor room. String lights were installed along steel cables above the seating area, and a custom concrete, steel and ipe fire pit was constructed, and finished with a transfer detail to display a set of coordinates important to the couple. A steel-frame and stainless steel cable trellis and a bubbling water feature were installed at the entry. Mexican pebble was used in open planting areas and newly cut concrete joints, and minimal plantings were utilized to soften up the clean lines of the space.
