"Our greatest asset as a company is our team members and their ability to pursue our vision. Our second greatest asset is our customers. We believe very strongly in the client experience throughout both the design and construction process. We make every effort to communicate effectively, honestly and proactively."
Jon grew up in Northern California before moving to San Luis Obispo in 2006 to pursue a degree in Landscape Architecture at Cal Poly. Throughout his education he was able to work for a variety of talented designers and contractors who introduced him to the design-build field, and he discovered a passion for not only functional and aesthetic design, but for the practical application and construction of it. Upon graduating from Cal Poly in 2009, Jon worked for a multidisciplinary design firm in San Francisco where he teamed with architects, urban planners, and interior designers in a collaborative office environment. He credits that experience for giving him a more well-rounded design perspective; it sparked his interest in not only landscape and exterior spaces, but interiors, furniture, and architecture. Jon had always wanted to return to the Central Coast, and in 2012 he left his position as a firefighter on a hotshot crew and moved back to SLO. He spent three years as a construction foreman and project manager before getting his landscape contractors license and starting Landwell Design + Build Co. He has worked hard to build a team of designers, builders and artists that share his attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively, work hard, be creative, and deliver high quality results. When Jon isn't in the field or the office, he enjoys trail running, backpacking in the Sierras, building furniture, and exploring the Central Coast.
