This landscape renovation in Nipomo, CA included removal of existing lawn areas in the front and backyard, and a transition to a low-water-use, low-maintenance landscape. A new staggered concrete step pathway was installed to create a more inviting entry, Palomino gravel mulch and accent boulders were brought in, and drought-tolerant succulents, perennials, shrubs and trees were planted to soften up the hardscape and introduce color into the landscape. Synthetic turf was installed in small areas in the front and backyard, low-voltage lighting was put in to illuminate walkways, and a block retaining wall was rebuilt in the backyard. The existing concrete patio in the backyard was refinished, and a new redwood pergola was built over it to create a more usable outdoor space!
